Description of reptile

Size

King Cobras are the worlds longest venomous snakes in the world.

The average measurement is 10 feet. But the longest measurement of a snake was more than 18 feet from nose tip to tail. Snakes Weigh up to 20 pounds.

Physical features

A physical feature about a King Cobra is that they are all poisonous. The only one that you will find that is not poisonous is a cobra that has been taken to the zoo or a scientist that took the poison out of it. But when they take the poison out of it it will come back soon. So if you see a cobra watch out because it is poisonous.

Adaptation

An adaptation for survival for a King Cobra is that they camouflage. They blend into the surrounding color so it looks like they are not even there and if a human was hunting for King Cobras they probably wouldnt see it or the snakes predator. But that is also a way to help the King Cobra hunt for its pray. Also most King Cobras stay still so no one can hear anything and then when the pray or human or whatever the enemy is it will attack it.

Food Getting: Snakes are carnivores (meat-eaters). They eat rodents and other mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians, insects , and eggs. Some snakes (like cobras, vipers, and rattlesnakes) are venomous and kill (or paralyze) their prey by injecting poison through hollow fangs. Some snakes (like boas and the anaconda) kill their prey by squeezing it to death. Snakes do not chew their food or even bite it into pieces; snakes swallow their food whole. Other snakes just catch their food and swallow it. The King Cobra eats mostly cold-blooded animals, including snakes (like the rat snake) and lizards. After swallowing a large animal (which can take hours), the King Cobra can go without food for months

Reproduction: Some snakes reproduce by laying eggs; other snakes give birth to live young

Survival Skills: The King Cobras eat every 6 weeks so they dont have to hunt for food until its every 6 weeks but sometimes King Cobras cant find nothing to eat in those 6 weeks so they just find another snake and eat it also for example if a King Cobra hasnt ate in 7 weeks its hungry and it sees a garter snake so it just goes fast and eats the snake because if it didnt the King Cobra would of died from hunger

Locomotion: The four ways in which snakes can move, serpentine locomotion, a simple crawl, is the most common and the fastest. The snake contracts its muscles to produce a series of waves in its body, pushing from the back of each wave to move forward

Cold Blooded: Like all snakes, King Cobras are cold-blooded they are the same temperature as the environment. They continue to grow all their lives, getting bigger and bigger each year.

How fast you will die: The cobras are venomous one bite and you are paralyzed and die in in a about one minute.

How many species of snakes are there? Snakes are a large group of reptiles; there are over 2,000 different species of snakes alive today.
